In this workshop we look at the basics of Ashtanga yoga: the breath and the sun salutations. In Ashtanga yoga we breathe in a very specific way: the Ujjayi breath. This way of breathing helps us to keep the focus on the body. Together we learn how to use the Ujjayi breath in the sun salutations. We also learn how to safely do the sun salutations and how to adapt them to our bodies. We learn how to build the strength we need to go from chaturanga dandasana (low plank) to upward facing dog and take a look at the first asanas from the first series.

This workshop is also a perfect basis for everybody who wants to start with vinyasa yoga since both styles build on the same fundaments.
